	Shuichi Iwata Professor, The University of Tokyo : Japan Design Studies on Materials, Artifacts, Environments and Information Society http://mori.q.t.u-tokyo.ac.jp/~iwata/ Shuichi Iwata has been working for "Data and Society" - - making “data on science and technology” available for everyone. He is President of CODATA (Committee on Data for Science and Technology), Professor at Graduate School of Frontier Sciences in the University of Tokyo, and Chairman of the 122 Committee, JSPS/Vice-Chairman of Knowledge Infrastructure Committee (MEXT, METI). Professor Iwata was born on January 29, 1948 in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. 1975 Doctor of Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, the University of Tokyo 1978-1991 Lecturer, Associate Professor of Metallurgy Division, Engineering Research Institute, Department of Nuclear Engineering, University of Tokyo/Guest Researcher, Fachinformations Zentrum, BRG(1985-1986) 1991-: Professor, Design Science, Life Cycle Engineering, Director of RACE, Graduate Schools of Engineering and Frontier Sciences Award and Honors: Honda Memorial Young Researcher Award Iketani Science Foundation Award/ Promotion of Science and Technology Information Award, Japan Science and Technology Agency Paper Award, The Japan Institute of Metals GIW Best Paper Award.
