Proceedings from the International Symposium on Open Access and the Public Domain in Digital Data and Information for Science was released in mid-June 2003 and is available in hard copy and online via the National Academies Press. The workshop, which was held in May 2003 at UNESCO headquarters in Paris, brought together over 200 leading experts and managers from the government and academic sectors in the developed and developing world, who are involved in the creation, dissemination, and use of data and information in public research.
