William Michener
Long Term Ecological Research Program

William Michener is Associate Director of the Long Term Ecological Research Network Office at the University of New Mexico. His primary activities include network coordination, informatics research, and international training. He served as Program Director of Ecology in the Division of Biological Sciences at the NSF from 1999-2000. At NSF, he served as senior Biological Sciences program officer in the Biocomplexity working group, and participated in numerous cross-disciplinary and inter-agency initiatives. His research interests include the ecology of natural and anthropogenic disturbances, and ecological informatics. He has published 3 books dealing with ecological informatics and more than 70 journal articles and book chapters.
