Development of the Material Database Retrieval System Using Developed Data Schema by Using RelaxNG

In order to realize common use for the different material database constructed with various viewpoints, we developed the material database retrieval system using developed data schema by using RelaxNG as a project of VAMAS
TWA-10. We developed data schema based on materials databases on powder metallurgy, heat-resistant alloys, amorphous alloys, fatigue strength of metallic materials of JSMS, and creep characteristic of metallic materials of NRIM.

To retrieve the material database described with XML according to data schema, this database retrieval system use XML data base engine (Xindice). When a different material data base is retrieved, it is good in the use only of one retrieval engine because this system is dynamically generating the retrieval item from information on data schema. Additionally, because the feature of this system mounts the material data evaluation technique function by using JavaBeans that is the technology of making to parts of the program, an additional remodeling of the evaluation technique is easy. Moreover, a practicable response speed has been achieved by making Java Applet plug-in though Java Applet is used as security countermeasures of data.
