There is a great concern rising over the resource recovery from the wastes due to the alarming exhaustion rate of resources propelled forth by rapid industrial growth and worsened still by the serious environmental disruption with the accumulation of accompanying wastes. Especially with the inorganic wastes, most of it is processed by way of land-fills in Korea , a country with extremely limited land space available. Under these circumstances, South Korea government has been focused on the development of the alternative materials which replace natural resources and the efficiency of utilization of waste. In particular, municipal solid waste incineration bottom ash is become one of the most critical issues in South Korea.

In this study, valuable substances were recovered from the bottom ashes of municipal solid incineration after estimating chemical characterization, and the study were carried out involving the application for civil materials of them after the removal of environmentally hazardous substances.
