Towards the Increased Use and Availability of Anthropometric Data for Engineering (work of the Anthropometric Data Task Group)

Chair: Sandy Ressler

The papers in the session will present the variety of work taking place in the Anthropometric Data Task Group. Although quite varied all the papers describe research aimed at making anthropometric data more useful and more available than has been traditionally possible. We have created an organization called WEAR, the World Engineering Anthropometry Resource, whose goal is to create a self-sustaining resource that will further the goals of wide, inexpensive access to anthropometric data. Research in database structure and integration, 3D human body shape and variation, visualization techniques and body dimensions will be presented.
