Applying Semantic Web Technologies to Materials Informatics

This paper will describe work we have been undertaking within the FUSION project at the University of Queensland which has involved the application of semantic web technologies (RDF, OWL) ontologies, rules and inferencing engines) to the optimization of fuel cells through:

- The mining and integration of processing, performance and microstructural data for fuel cell components

- Sophisticated querying and inferencing tools

- Innovative multimedia data exploration and visualization interfaces;

- Statistical driven experimental designs
